The Lion In Glory (A Graham Novel)

The tides of war have turned for the valiant Scots led by King Robert the Bruce, and they boldly reclaim lands still ruled by the English. When Jamie Graham comes to seize Hamstead Heath, he has no need for a hostage–not even one as beautiful and spirited as Christina, the manor’s chatelaine. Yet she insists that he abduct her. Though he is certain this confounding woman is trying to play him for a fool, Jamie is determined to claim the sweet temptation she offers…

Christina has but one goal–to free her brother from the fortress of the new English king who has accused her family of treason. Her growing love for her unwilling captor is both unexpected and thrilling, yet it must not deter her from her mission–to master the art of jousting, win a tournament in disguise, and secure her brother’s release. She cannot foresee the twist of fate that will threaten all she holds dear: her life, her lands…and the man who has captured her heart.

My Review: I have read just about every Heather Graham books ever written. If I read this book it’s been awhile since I picked it up. This book was pretty interesting. The Lion In Glory is an historical romance set back when England in Scotland were at odds with each other. But then again when aren’t they at odds. However, this time it’s the Scots that has the upper hand and now that the tables are turned the Scottish are looking for a little pay back. The form of payback is basically what we call protection money. You would ask from who….well from the Scots that’s right Scotland is going castle to castle taking protection money from the Lords of England and the King of England is just sitting back and letting this happen.

The Lion In Glory was well written funny and full of historical facts. It kept you involved until the bitter end.Christina and Jamie Graham were strong characters that were very well developed with a steady pace in reading.
