I have been a blogger for just about three years now. 😊 It has been a journey to come this far. Thank you, everyone, who’s following my blog from the conception. But as life has shown us. It’s forever changing and evolving. So, like life…I too must evolve. To begin this transformation, I will start with the way I rate my books. Nothing too huge. For even though life changes, I am only human, and as such, don’t really care for change.

But I am doing away with the plain looking stars. Yep, gone and forever shall we part. Out with the old in with the new. Yearwood La Novela is going animated. Thus, depending on how great the book was, will depend on what the animation shall be. To implement this modification. I thought that Talen should be the perfect book to do the big reveal.

Again, thanks to all my old followers and hello new ones. On to the book review.

She’ll love him forever . . . but he can’t make her obey . . .

The war is over. Danger has passed. Cara Kayrs is healed after decades of illness and ready for a break.

Too bad her brooding, alpha vampire husband can’t seem to change gears. In their twenty-five years, together Talen Kayrs has learned to sense every shiver of her body, to ignite her desire with a word or a look. She would think he could learn she’s not some fragile damsel in distress.

But Talen is on edge, watching their backs, treating her like she’s made of glass. Like there’s something following them, a deadly threat that somehow none of their intelligence has uncovered. It’s enough to drive a woman crazy, and Talen has plenty of those tendencies already.

But what’s even more maddening is that he seems to be right . . .

Never think something is ever complete. As author knows that when a character speaks to you, it must be time to write their story. Well, Talen and Cara spoke to Rebecca Zanetti. Their journey wasn’t finished like we thought.  We see that it has been twenty-fives years that Talen and Cara have been married. That they’re happily married with two adult children and one adorable grandchild. What we also see, is Talen being Talen. That’s right…you would think that after twenty-five years and there’s peace among demons that Talen would stop being over protective. Nope! And like Talen is found saying “I have lived over a decade, to know that peace is short lived.” Not a perfect quote, but you see what I mean. But later you would understand that Talen is never wrong. Because no sooner, then they leave the house demons are hot on their trail. And their mission is to capture Cara.
It is not too often, that authors revisit old characters, and we as readers get to see our beloved characters once more and to see how they’re faring. You would think once that character or characters story has been told that its the end of it. But it’s nice to know, we can never assume anything.

Like in their original story, Talen is again a badass, out to prove that he is still nothing to mess with….in war or peace time. And when it comes to protecting Cara he would do absolutely anything.

For Talen to be a short novella, it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with Talen and Cara all over again. I think this might be true for you.

Reverend “Rev” Walker, expected some backlash after he foiled The Council’s attempts to overthrow the Blood Ravager Biker Gang. What he hadn’t expected was to wake up in the last place he ever wanted to see again—a dank cell of The Council’s Siberian dungeon. Drained and chained, he faces certain death if he can’t escape from the hellish prison. Now, his only means of escape depends on him accepting help from a fellow prisoner, a woman whose very existence is a lie and the only one capable of awakening Rev’s long-dormant heart.

Claire Deveraux is Dygarian, a race of shadow-shifters who have been slandered and hunted to extinction by The Council. But Claire has used her years of enslavement well, reading her captors’ secret texts and hearing their whispered secrets. Now, after being locked up for a crime she didn’t commit, she plans to use her knowledge of the dungeon’s maze-like interior to gain her freedom, or die trying. Then a new prisoner arrives, a man Claire has dreamed of and knows in her heart is her destined mate, if only she can break through his walls.

On the run and threatened from all sides, will Rev and Claire learn to trust each other and their growing feelings for one another before it’s too late?

Blood Vowed is the 3rd book in Traci Douglass’ Blood Ravagers series. Before this book debut, I advise you to read Blood Bound & Blood Freed to get the full history on this club of misfits.
Keeping a secret from the one that you claim to be falling in love with is never a good idea, even if that secret will save them from hurting even further.
Reverend “Rev” Walker will learn this soon enough. After the last book, we find that not everything is going well with Rev. After letting himself be captured he is held in a dank cell the last place he wanted to be or see again. But that is not all, he finds himself not the only one that the Council has deemed fit to be held in their cell far away from other beings.
Claire Deveraux the last of the Dygarian a race of shadow-shifter wants revenge against the council and the person who slaughter her entire family. But before she could take revenge, she must escape from captivity. In order to do so, she must team up with the other prison.
Blood Vowed is the best of this series by far. It was a far more intriguing story and full of suspense than its predecessors. If you read the others in this series you will see what I mean. Rev and Clair were more engaging as a couple. They just click better for me faster than the twin’s story line.
The banter between Rev and Claire was hilarious and the chemistry was golden. The only disappointing thing about the book was the battle. But then again that is just my opinion. But I would certainly recommend this book, heck the entire series for the gripping storyline alone.

Because the European vampires are on the move. And if Canada falls, the rest of North America could follow . . .

Now this is a series I could get behind. A story with great character development. Lucifer the #11 title in Vampire In America: Vampire Wars series wasn’t too slow, nor to fast. It flowed flawlessly.

I do want to point out that the main storyline in Lucifer, However, might make you want to visit Sophia story to see how she became who she is. But this reviewer enjoyed Lucifer so much that I am going to start from the beginning and reread Lucifer again. This book was that good.

Abigail Forsythe’s life hasn’t been easy lately. Still, if there’s one thing guaranteed to take her mind off an empty bank account and abandoned dreams, it’s a naked man locked in a plane’s cargo hold. A very big, incredibly gorgeous naked man. And when instinct prompts her to free him, Abigail must rely on this stranger for survival…a stranger who leaves her thrumming with need every time they touch.

Tomasso Notte knows he’s found his life mate in Abigail. Now he just has to hold on to her. They’re miles from civilization, hunted by his kidnappers. Abigail has no idea of Tomasso’s abilities, or of how intensely pleasurable their unique connection can be. But he’s about to show her, beginning with one wild, hot, immortal night…

This just proves that I have way too much going on this holiday season. I didn’t even know that Lynsay Sands had a new book out. Thanks mom…In Lynsay Sands latest book we journey back to that beloved family the Argeneaus in book #24 we finally get the story of Tomasso Notte.

I thought Lynsay Sands couldn’t get any better, but of course she had to go and prove me wrong. The relationship between Abigail and Tomasso was ingenious.

Abigail was on the road to becoming a Medical Doctor, when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. So, being a good daughter she put her career plans on hold to take care of her mother. Once her mother lost the battle, Abigail is second guessing if becoming a doctor was a good idea. If Doctors couldn’t save her mother what good were they. Until one day when her child hood friend invited her to stay with him. But when she arrived, her friend got an important assignment that requires him to fly business men to a tropical island. Instead of having Abigail wait for him back at his place, he decided to take her along. That is when Abigail life change drastically.

Immortal Nights, was a fast pace story that has something for every type of reader of romance. If you haven’t picked up a story by Lynsay Sands or if you’re undecided by what to read, then look no further Immortal Nights is certainly that book that will leave you saying when is the next Argeneau book due for release.

The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire (Dead in the City #4)

Beloved author Sara Humphreys’ acclaimed paranormal romance series continues with sweltering attraction between two vampires who have all the time in the world to satisfy their desires…

He wants eternity?
Dakota Shelton is a vampire cowboy with a penchant for cinnamon lollipops and Johnny Cash. Though highly skilled and deadly dangerous to his enemies, he’s still a Texas good ol’ boy at heart. And he has that heart set on wooing Trixie LaRoux—the most badass punk rock chick in town—the old-fashioned way.

Over her undead body…

Trixie is tough as nails and sharp as a silver stake—the last thing she wants is a man to sit on a porch and not grow old with. So it’ll take going to hell and back fighting a new threat to vampires before she admits Dakota’s courtship makes her blood hum. Turns out chivalry’s not dead after all.

My Review: OMG. This book was excellent. When it comes to paranormal romance Sara Humphreys is one of the best. In The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire we meet Trixie a tough as nails vampire, who had it with relationships. Dakota Shelton; was a gentleman vampire who has the penchant for cinnamon lollipops. The sparks these too had was nothing compare to the humorous banter. What I loved about this book was the main characters didn’t let their past lives define who they were. For instance as a human Trixie didn’t know where she belonged with that she went on a destructive path which later on became the ultimate reason on how she become a vampire. But she soon realizes that family is not always the people that birth you. They can also be people that help you and protect you along the way.

With Dakota he discovers that revenge isn’t always so sweet.

Even though The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire is the fourth book in Sara Humpreys’ “Dead in the City” series this title read as a standalone. I will definitely purchase the other titles in this series since this book was astoundingly good.

Shadows Strike (Immortal Guardians series Book 6) Book Review

What would you do if you were able to read minds? What would you do if you were able to tell the future? Would you tell someone or would you keep what you have read a secret. Would you try to change the outcome or destiny of said future?
Well in Dianne Duvall next installment of The Immortal Guardians Heather Lane has the opportunity to answer these questions for us.

Heather Lane U.S. law enforcement agent she had the gift of being a telepathic since birth. No one outside her family knew what she was capable of doing. Then something happen for almost a year she was having recurring dreams; something that could only be a dream right? It’s normal to dream, however it’s not normal to dream of one thing each and every night with the same outcome. So one day she decided to see if she could find the field she had seen in her dreams. At actually 5:43 what she dreamed was coming true in fact it was coming true just the way it happened in her dreams.

When I had the chance to read Shadows Strike I went into this book with high hopes of being mildly entertained. I can honestly say that Dianne Duvall has actually surprised me. Shadow Strike was so much more than what I’ve come to expect from a paranormal romance. Plot was well developed and the story had me captivated, which makes for a highly entertaining, gratifying night.

Night’s Surrender (Children of the Night Book 7) Book Review

In Amanda Ashley latest edition to her bestselling paranormal romance Series “The Children of the Night” we are introduce to Rane and Savanah’s daughter Abby Marie Cordova. Abby was an aspiring actress who knows more than most people do about vampires since everyone in her family are one, being the only human out of all those vampires she felt left out. However, a chance encounter with dark, mysterious Niccola Desanto takes Abby on an ultimate discovery.

There are sayings “Be careful of what you wish for” and “Life is greener on the other side.” Well Niccola Desanto will find out that these sayings are not always true especially spending over a hundred years as an immortal. Rumor has it that Mara the world oldest vampire who also was his maker has regained her humanity and now Nick is on the excursion to find Mara and the cure. Along the way he meets up with Abby, not knowing he is one step closer to becoming mortal once more.

Night’s Surrender is one enjoyable book.  It was a real pleasure visiting with old friends. This book will leave you in stitches.

My favorite line “There’s a man for every women” “Or a weirdo for every dingbat.“
