In this explosive new thriller, #1 New York Times bestselling author Lisa Jackson delves into the deep bond between two sisters and their shared dream that becomes a harrowing nightmare of madness, hatred and jealousy…
Cassie Kramer and her younger sister, Allie, learned the hazards of fame long ago. Together, they’d survived the horror of a crazed fan who nearly killed their mother, former Hollywood actress Jenna Hughes. Still, Cassie moved to L.A., urging Allie to follow. As a team, they’d take the town by storm. But Allie, finally free of small-town Oregon, and just that little bit more beautiful, also proved to be more talented—and driven. Where Cassie got bit parts, Allie rose to stardom. But now her body double has been shot on the set of her latest movie—and Allie is missing.
Police discover that the last call to Allie’s phone came from Cassie, though she has no recollection of making it. Instead of looking like a concerned relative, Cassie is starting to look like a suspect—the jealous sister who finally grew sick of playing a supporting role. As the tabloids go into a frenzy, Cassie ends up on a Portland psych ward. Is she just imagining the sinister figure who comes to her bedside, whispering about Allie—a visitor of whom there is no record? Is someone trying to help—or drive her mad?
Convinced she’s the only one who can find Allie, Cassie checks herself out of the hospital. But a sudden slew of macabre murders— each victim masked with a likeness of a member of Cassie’s family—makes Cassie fear for her safety and her sanity. The only way to end the nightmare is to find out what really happened to Allie. And with each discovery, Cassie realizes that no one can be trusted to keep her safe—least of all herself…
When you read a murder mystery do you like chills and thrills. Because with Lisa Jackson latest thriller, she delivered on all score. In After She’s Gone we take a look inside Hollywood, where even having a bit part in a movie is dangerous to your health.
Cassie Kramer is a visitor at Mercy Hospital home of the mentally insane. But is Cassie Kramer mentally unstable or just someone who knows a little too much. When her younger sister Allie goes missing, Cassie becomes the number one suspect.
Deciding to check herself out of the hospital, to search for her missing sister, macabre murders started to happen in each place Cassie has been. And each murder begins to take shape that indicates that someone in the Kramer family is guilty. If not Cassie than who?
This is one book that will have you thinking. Just when you thought that you solved the mystery Lisa Jackson would throw another twist at you.

Kyle, one of the alpha men of Walker Security, is hot, bothered, and intense, and when Myla lands in his line of fire, she’ll soon learn her secrets, and her passion, belong to him, from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones.
Myla is beautiful, a dove with clipped wings, captive by the wolf, a vicious drug lord. One look into her eyes and Kyle could see the pain, the fear…the desperation. Or so it seems. He’s been fooled before by a woman and it cost him everything and everyone he loved. He won’t be fooled again.
My Review: Have you ever picked up book, at the store and as soon as you past the first paragraph you felt that you have read the story before? Well, I had that felling while reading Deep Under by Lisa Renee Jones.
Deep Under is a first person narrative. This is a standalone book, as with the other books in the Tall, Dark and Deadly series you do not have to read the previous books to enjoy this one.
Myla was like any other person, just working to pay the bills. Until one night at work she caught the attention of a drug lord. Kidnapped and presumed dead by everyone.
The Walker Security has been on the hunt for Michael Alvarez. Also presumed dead when his plane exploded carrying him and Myla. But the word on the streets are that Alvarez was very much alive, and if that is so, then Myla too must be.
Kyle is one of Walker Security leading man when it comes to locating and destroy. On this assignment everything he knows is put to the test. Going deep undercover to protect a mystery person, Kyle was deeply shocked by whom he was protecting. And to keep Myla safe he must keep his distance even though everything in him says to pull her close and never let her go.
Deep Under was an action packed, suspense romance with a lot of twist and turns. What I really enjoyed about this book was that Myla wasn’t a weak lead character that was waiting for the big strong male to come to save the day. If anything it was surprising on how strong a character that Myla was.

Errol MacRae’s days of gallivanting across the Highlands are nearing an end. His father’s health has taken a turn for the worse, and rumors are swirling that the crown intends to transfer ancient lands into the hands of the MacKenzies, the clan the MacRaes are sworn to defend. Errol expects to lead his men into battle soon. So he isn’t pleased when his father instead sends him to retrieve a beautiful flame-haired lass who has fled into the mountains.
Orphaned as a young girl, Aileana vividly remembers how the MacRaes rescued her and welcomed her into their clan. For ten years, she has served them loyally—until the night she’s nearly despoiled by one of the laird’s captains. Aileana risks her life and her reputation to seek refuge in the snowcapped peaks of the Five Sisters, the one place that has always felt like home. But after the strong-armed, strong-willed Errol tracks her down in a blizzard, she finds herself tempted to risk something even more dangerous: her heart.
My Review: Violetta Rand is on a great path to what I think is going to be an excellent series. In Her Highland Rogue were are introduced to Aileana who as a child was orphaned a found by a neighboring clan the MacRaes. But everything is not what that appeared to be. When accosted by a captain of the guards, Aileana fled the castle, to her anything would be better than to stay at the keep to be mauled by a man who can’t take NO for an answer.
Errol who I am going to say was a lord in training, because to me he still acted not like a person who was capable to rule a clan but someone still looking for a parents’ approval. However, as the story progressed so does his capabilities.
Her Highland Rogue fits right in with every other historical romance ever written. I can’t actually tell you if this was one of Violetta Rand best books, since this would be the first book that I ever read from this author. I can tell you, it won’t be my last.

She refuses to trust him.
Red Stone Security employee Dominique Castle knows all too well that there are people in this world she just can’t trust. After losing both her parents, Dominique keeps her distance from anyone tied to her past—especially the man she’s hated for years. And Viktor Ivanov isn’t going to change her mind about who he really is—no matter how determined the infuriatingly sexy Russian is.
He’s determined to win her over.
She may hate him and not trust him, but Viktor is determined to crack through Dominique’s icy exterior one way or another—even if it means taking the game into his own hands. With a past like Viktor’s, he’s made more than a few enemies along the way—enemies who’ll stop at nothing to take him down. When Viktor realizes Dominique’s life is in danger because of him, he’ll stop at nothing to protect her—whether she likes it or not. Now it’s up to Dominique to trust the one man who’s linked to the agony of her past. Can she find a way to love the enemy she always loathed?
My Review: Every so often, you will find that one book that no matter how late it is, you must complete said book before bed. That book to me was Love Thy Enemy by Katie Reus. It is her latest book in the Red Stone Security series and can be read as a stand-alone. If you never picked up one of Katie Reus books, Love Thy Enemy is a romantic suspense with emphases on romance.
Dominique should hate anyone with the name of Ivanov. Since it was the last name of the person who had a strong hand in her mother’s death. But with Viktor, the sins of father shall always stay with the father.
Once Viktor realize what his father has done to Dominique family. He takes it upon himself to righting the wrong…It doesn’t hurt that he finds Dominique very alluring.
Love Thy Enemy was an excellent book from start to finish. I never read two romance stories simultaneously before, but that just goes to show, how good a story teller Katie Reus is. Love Thy Enemy was a very fast-pace narrative with a sweet HEA for all couples.

Montana’s bravest…and hottest
With a mysterious arsonist on the loose in Missoula, fire inspector Kevin Jensen saves more than Heather Sampson’s house. The sexy single father rescues her from an abusive marriage—and discovers his own past failures don’t have to rule his life. Especially when sparks between him and Heather ignite irresistible desire.
But who’s the arsonist? Why target Heather? What’s his shocking motive? When Heather faces off with him in a brutal attack, she needs her “white knight” as much as he needs her. Both have looked into their souls and risked their broken hearts for each other. Now Kevin will have to risk his life and his heart.
My Review: Smoke and Ashes written by Danica Winters, was my first book by this author. It has been a decade since I read a Harlequin Romance. Since then my taste in genre has grown. But it never hurts to go back to the root of things.
In Smoke and Ashes we experience a flashback effect. The arsonist has set Heather Sampson’s house on fire while she was sleeping. Then we are taken back to what transpired. To having the arsonist targeting Heather.
Smoke and Ashes had a lot of twist and turns before the climatic end. Just when you thought you knew who the arsonist was then new pieces of the puzzle unfolds which leads you to change your mind.
The suspense was great. Since I am a romantic I could even get behind the second change at love. Because once you read this book, you will wonder what Heather ever saw in that husband of hers. However, the romance was lacking. I didn’t fill the chemistry between Kevin and Heather it was too forced to be believed. Maybe if the book was longer, given it more time to develop. This book had so much potential. But then again it all goes to taste.

My Review: If you like you men hot and wild, if you like your romance story steamy and hot. Under The Surface book 4 in Anne Calhoun Alpha Ops series, would be the book you wish to pick up a copy of. I never read any books in this series. So, this series could be read in any order. But after reading this Eve Webber was trying to run a legitimate business but its difficult when outside forces is hindering your efforts. Eve wasn’t looking for help, but she shore wasn’t going to turn away the sexy Chad the new bartender.
Under The Surface was a good romantic suspense, with the main focus on the interaction between Chad/Matt and Eve. Very nice character development which the chemistry between the two main characters wasn’t forced.
I am definitely going back and start at the beginning of this series.

When Emily Wayborn goes home to visit her mom while on hiatus from her hit TV show, she receives a voicemail from her former best friend, Amber. Though the two were once notorious party girls, they haven’t spoken in years. Although the message might sound benign to anyone else, Amber uses a safe word that Emily recognizes, a word they always used to get out of sticky situations during their wild days. And what’s more chilling than the voicemail: it turns out that Amber has gone missing.
Determined to track down her friend, Emily follows a chain of clues that lead her to the enigmatic billionaire Reeve Sallis, hotelier known for his shady dealings and play boy reputation. Now, in order to find Amber, Emily must seduce Reeve to learn his secrets and discover the whereabouts of her friend. But as she finds herself more entangled with him, she finds she’s drawn to Reeve for more than just his connection to Amber, despite her growing fear that he may be the enemy. When she’s forced to choose where her loyalty lies, how will she decide between saving Amber and saving her heart?
My Review: First Touch by Laurelin Paige, is a first person narration and a book that totally had me confused. In a way that was my fault I should have read what the story was about then maybe the confusing wouldn’t have set in. But hind sight is 20/20. Lauren Paige takes you into a world of seduction. To find her friend Amber, Emily Wayborn must first try to seduce billionaire Reeve Sallis. But the tables are turned when the seducer becomes the seduced.
I found this book wasn’t for me. But if you like first person narrative stories and hot seduction scenes First Touch would be for you.

David hates to admit that the curvy blonde’s mesmerizing effect isn’t limited to canines. But when Lyn’s work with Atlas puts her in danger, David will do anything to protect her.
Lyn realizes that David’s own battle scars make him uniquely qualified for his job as a trainer. Tough as nails yet gentle when it counts, he’s gotten closer to Atlas than anyone else-and he’s willing to put his hard-wired suspicion aside to let her do the same. But someone desperate enough to kill doesn’t want Lyn working with Atlas. Now only teamwork, trust, and courage can save two troubled hearts and the dog who loves them both . . .
My Review: I am going to start off and say that this book was good could have been better but for what it’s worth it was a good book to alleviate boredom. I plot means to the book was there I enjoyed that part of the book. Lyn being sent to help Hope’s Crossing kennel with Atlas whose handler died in combat. We think that dogs could just move on from one owner to the next without any cares in the world. Well with Extreme Honor Piper Drake shows that a canine who’s a service dog can go through the same type of emotional disorder just like a human.
What I didn’t like about the book was the chemistry between Lyn and David these two just didn’t click for me. I don’t know maybe I got to attached to what was happening to Atlas and the mystery surrounding him that I didn’t give Lyn and David bounding chemistry a chance.
Would I read another book in this series? This would be a most definitely. Even though the chemistry between the two main characters didn’t capture my attention the storyline about Atlas carried my attention continuously until the end.

But when his cover is blown, Cade must choose to uphold the law or protect the woman he’s grown to love…by going rogue.
My Review: Wow this book was hot. The chemistry between Cade and Em was sinfully hot from the time that they meet. Em was on a deadly mission, that of vengeance against the person who attacked her and murdered her fiancé right in front of her. Cade too was on a mission that of finding the person responsible for killing his partner. Em would use her position as president of the Dirty Sinners while Cade is going to infiltrate Dirty Sinners to get the answers he needs.
Rebel Love had so many twists and turns that left you guessing until the very end. At one time I thought I guessed who the murderer could be just to be wrong. So if you are looking for a good sexy hot read with likable characters that will leave you breathless then Rebel Love would be that book.

Beware of Me, a real treat for lovers of romantic suspense. In 4th book of Cynthia Eden Dark Obsession series we have Carly and Ethan who we all met in Need Me. This time around it’s Carly who’s in danger. They say that your past can’t hurt you it can only make you stronger. In some was this statement is true in others it can seriously kill you. Carly and Ethan past are tied together entwined so to speak by blood and death. For this reason alone Ethan walked away from Carly, just to walk back in several years later when the secret of their past were revealed.
My Take: I really, really loved this book. One thing that Cynthia Eden does best is keep you guessing; at One point I thought I solved the mystery, than she threw in a twist that I never seen coming. Ethan was the type of guy that would do anything for the one person he loves. Whereas, Carly, she was wounded but she refused to be a victim to let what happen to her when she was 17 to control the rest of her life. Which I really loved about Beware of Me, this story had really strong characters. If the suspense doesn’t grab you maybe the real hot chemistry between Ethan and Carly will.

Tough as nails, no nonsense San Francisco reporter Grace Hanover will do anything to cover the story of the decade—and her career. Having survived a painful past, she’s learned never to let anything stand in her way. Even if it means following a key witness into the Alaskan wilderness, and partnering with Travis Barnett, a former Navy SEAL turned PI who’s working for the Feds, and who would love to bring in Grace’s witness before she can get her story. But together in the wilderness, they’ll each have to put aside their differences and trust one another if they want to survive.
My Take: This was the second book in the Watching Now. Since I never read the first book, I was going blind into the series. I didn’t feel that I was missing anything major plot points, so this could be read as a stand-alone. Every Step She Takes is filled with romance, suspense, and adventure. The chemistry was well written and the mystery was great. What I really found interesting was that even though Grace was the one hesitant about having a committed relationship it was Travis who was persistent and was willing to fight for what he wanted. Majority of the books I have read it has always been the women who had to fight for the relationship so in my opinion it was interesting to see a man on the revers end.

I had the chance to read Cursed by Ice by Jacquely Frank the second installment in The Immortal Brothers this book like Cursed by Fire didn’t disappoint. Garreth was considered the level headed one. The one that tried to halt his other brothers from finding the fountain of life, on their misguided journey they were all cursed. Whereas, Dethan who was cursed by Fire. Garreth is cursed by Ice. He like his brother before him was offered a reprieve from his torment in exchange for his allegiance in the celestial civil war of the gods. Along this journey he meets Sarielle while trying to conquer her homeland. Sarielle like Garreth has her own problems. She’s being used by the current lord due to the fact she has the ability to control a mystical beast name Koro a weyvern. Sarielle too has the responsibility of caring for her two younger siblings being held as leverage against her in order to use her abilities. I think the reason I fell in love with Garreth and Sarielle story is because they were both slaves. Garreth salved by the gods to do their bidding or else to suffer the fate of being frozen to death for all eternity and Sarielle a true slave by the people she is force to protect and by her ability.
Need Me by Cynthia Eden. Julianna Smith was to stand trial for murder of her husband. However, if you read the last book you know why she doesn’t. Is Julianna a femme fatale or an innocent woman being set up by a diabolical murderer; only one place Julianna could go to VJS Protection. Julianna needs someone to not believe that she’s a black widow, but someone to protect her from the unknown stalker that is out to kill her. Devlin Shade is that man. One of the owners of the VJS Protection, he and Julianna met in the last book when at that time his friend was protecting Julianna’s attorney from also being killed by a stalker.
Need Me title was apropos for in that Julianna finds that she will need Devlin a lot while standing a step ahead of the stalker. When you thought you knew who done it, another twist occur.
If you are looking for a nice book to end your day on a high note, or just to unwind make Need Me by Cynthia Eden be that book.
If you are looking for a good read to curl up with on a cold winter night make Mine To Have that book. Mine To Have is the 5th installment to Cynthia Eden’s Mine series; this also would be the first in this series I have read. I found this is not a stand-alone that to get the full effect you should start the series from the beginning. However, I decided to start with this one and can I say that I loved the story of Saxon and Elizabeth. Saxon Black was on one last assignment before he could disappear to start his new life. A life where he could leave everything that he has done behind him; only thing he has to do is make it out alive.
Elizabeth when she meets Saxon was under a life and death situation mainly her own. She doesn’t know why a crazy man is holding her hostage and she doesn’t really know why a sexy as sin man wants her for an hour. Only thing she does know is that she wants to wake from this nightmare that she find herself in.
If Cynthia Eden plan was to leave you wanting more, then I could seriously say mission accomplished. I can’t wait for the next installment.
Full Throttle is the seventh book in the Black Knights series written by Julie Ann Walker. What can I say about this book, it was very well written the plot took you on so many journeys, Carlos and Abby met years before while attending the same college, however, tragedy struck when the coffee shop that Carlos’ sister Rosa was waiting for Abby, was struck by a terrorist group.
Carlos decided that day to give up on his dream of becoming a doctor, Abby too gave up on her dreams. Both have demons only one thing could save them and that was each other.
Full Throttle is a wonderful story of love lost and found, revenge and secrets. I can’t wait for Julie Ann Walker next book. If it’s about Penni and Dan I am all in on reading. Enjoy reading Full Throttle by Julie Ann Walker because I sure did.
