Mr. Perfect

That’s the deliciously racy topic that Jaine Bright and her three girlfriends are pondering one night at their favorite after-hours hot spot: Mr. Perfect. Would he be tall, dark, and handsome? Caring and warmhearted — or will just muscular do? As their conversation hears up, they concoct a tongue-in-cheek checklist that becomes an overnight sensation, spreading like wildfire at work and sizzling along e-mail lines. But what began as a joke among friends turns deadly serious when one of the four women is murdered….Turning to her neighbor, an unpredictable police detective, for help, Jaine must unmask a killer to save her friends — and herself. Now, knowing whom to trust and whom to love is a matter of survival — as the dream of Mr. Perfect becomes a chilling nightmare.

It has been a serious long time, since I read a book by Linda Howard. But I wasn’t expecting this…. I found myself laughing my head off. If the people who were looking at me like I needed to be committed was any indication I didn’t hide my amusement very well.

In Mr. Perfect, four friends just joking around what would make a perfect man. Should he be attentive, should he be tall, dark and handsome. No, those aren’t the qualities that these women are looking for in a man. He should be honest, and should last longer then takes to brush your teeth in the morning, when it came to sex. But what should have been  taken as an innocent joke…. turned these four friends into an overnight sensation, with local and international papers picking up what is now called “The List”. But the media isn’t the only eyes these four caught the attention of.

When one of the four friends was found murder in her home, it would be up to Jaine and her Mr. Perfect to unmask a murderer before he strikes next.

Besides this book being hilarious, it turned out to be a good murder mystery to boot. The twist at the end was amazing. I never would have thought it.

But all other concerns are wiped away when Maddy goes missing and Ronan and his bloodhound K-9 partner are tasked with finding her and bringing her home.

The title lived up to its name. In Trouble Walks In We’re introduce to Ronan McGuire, he loves women, but he’s been in love with only one women.

Maddy Morgan didn’t have time for relationships of any kind, not since her last relationship ended in tragedy.   She didn’t know that Ronan, her best friend, has been in love with her all these years.  And that he will stop at nothing to show her…if only she would give him the chance.

He might just get that chance when bodies of women are found, which Ronan soon realize they all have one thing in common…their career choice. Soon his case hits close to home when the next body found is linked to the same Real Estate Company that Maddy works for.

Trouble Walks In was very suspenseful, with twist and turns that will leave you guessing until the end. It was an enjoyable read from start to finish with cute scenes between the two main characters.

Once Upon a Moonlit Night (Maiden Lane #10.5)

Hippolyta Royle is running for her life. Pursued by hounds on a cold rainy night, the heiress flags down a passing carriage and throws herself at the mercy of the coach’s occupant. Whoever this handsome traveler may be, he is her only hope to escape a terrible fate. But should he agree to escort her to safety, he’s in for much more than he bargained for . . .

At first Matthew Mortimer doesn’t believe Hippolyta’s story, that she’s a fabulously wealthy heiress who’s been kidnapped. He assumes she’s a beggar, an actress, or worse. But once his new travel companion washes the mud from her surprisingly lovely face, and they share a breathtaking kiss, there is no turning back . . .

I have read only two other books in this series. I was seriously thinking about giving up on reading any more. I am here to say that Once Upon a Moonlit Night was the best story in this series. I am pretty sure that their are other readers out there that will say otherwise, but to me there is no doubt in my mind that once you read Once Upon a Moonlit Night you would agree with me.

The old age saying to start with basic are still true and the story of Matthew Mortimer and Hippolyta has put it to the test.

Hippolyta a Lady of high birth was kidnapped and force to escape. With dogs hot on her trail, she was force to throw herself at the mercy of Matthew Mortimer.

Of course when she tells Matthew who she was, he doesn’t believe her, but assist her any was.

Matthew and Hippolyta  story was a enjoyable story full of adventure, mystery and a epic love story for the ages.

It also sends out the message that not everyone cares about nationality, its all about the person, and what you have become.

A powerful classic repackaged love story featuring a Native American hero, touches of mysticism and suspense, and heartrending romance.

Morgan Tallchief lives for the art he creates, but even that is haunted by the loss of the only woman he will ever love. When Kathleen Ryder mysteriously re-enters his life, the achingly sweet hunger that bound them together in the past returns as well.

My Review: There are some books that once you read them, they sit on your bookshelf just wanting for you to throw them away to make room the next collection of books. But then there is that one special book that no matter how many times you have read it, it would never get old and.  This one in a life time book for me is “Tallchief” written by Sharon “Dinah McCall” Sala.

Tallchief was published back in 1997 it was about how one man couldn’t get over the women he loved. Before there was Maurice Greene, Justin Gatlin and even Shawn Crawford which was all great in there events. However, there was one man, a teen actually name Morgan Tallchief. Tallchief was becoming a national star. At his last track met he set a world record and record that will take a decade to break but you have to read the book to find out by whom. But even being the fast man could stop Tallchief from losing the one person who mint the world to him Kathleen Ryder. Instead of become the next Olympic star, he decided to turn in his sneaks to becoming a lethal finding machine/Artist. He thought he just might be finding the road back to the living when one windy night a ghost walked back into his life, and along with her a danger from the past.

I could go on and on about this book. Tallchief was just an excellent book from start to finish. So, if you like your men strong and enigmatic. Then you need to add TALLCHIEF to your list of summer reading.

Jackson Rule

Jackson Rule had spent nearly half his life behind bars for murder. Now he was starting over–or trying to. Once he laid hungry eyes on his new employer, though, his resolve to lead a simple solitary life deserted him, replaced by yearnings for fierce, forbidden passion.

Preacher’s daughter Rebecca Hill was raised to give folks the benefit of the doubt–though maybe this time she’d taken charity a bit too far. True Jackson Rule had paid his debt to society, and was a hard, honest worker. What threatened to undo her was the sheer burning desire she felt in his presence, and the sinking feeling that her heart would be his captive forever.

My Review: What would you do for the ones you love. Would you steal for them? Would you kill for them? The ultimate question are you will to spend life behind bars that person. Well Jackson almost done just that. And now that he’s out he just wanted to start his life a new. Which , its very hard to do when you spent the best part of your life behind bars. But Rebecca Hill was raised to believe that everyone even Jackson deserves a second chance no matter what the crime.

Jackson Rule by Sharon “Dinah McCall” Sala is book that every fan or new fans will love. The emotions that Sharon Sala has you go through will leave you drained, but a good kind of drain. So, load up on tissues, and go into the world of;

Duke of Sin (Maiden Lane #10)

Devastatingly handsome. Vain. Unscrupulous. Valentine Napier, the Duke of Montgomery, is the man London whispers about in boudoirs and back alleys. A notorious rake and blackmailer, Montgomery has returned from exile, intent on seeking revenge on those who have wronged him. But what he finds in his own bedroom may lay waste to all his plans.

Born a bastard, housekeeper Bridget Crumb is clever, bold, and fiercely loyal. When her aristocratic mother becomes the target of extortion, Bridget joins the Duke of Montgomery’s household to search for the incriminating evidence-and uncovers something far more dangerous.

Astonished by the deceptively prim-and surprisingly witty-domestic spy in his chambers, Montgomery is intrigued. And try as she might, Bridget can’t resist the slyly charming duke. Now as the two begin their treacherous game of cat and mouse, they soon realize that they both have secrets-and neither may be as nefarious-or as innocent-as they appear . . .

My Review: Duke of Sin by Elizabeth Hoyt was very slow I almost gave up on it. However, I am glad that I didn’t. Valentine “Val” Napier Duke of Montgomery was so miss understood it was so unbelievable. I too thought he was a degenerate until the story unfold to show it wasn’t the Duke but everyone else. Now poor Bridget her life was a mess from the time she was born. Her mother was being blackmailed by Val and to save her mother reputation she must go undercover as a housekeeper to retrieve the incriminating evidence.

Val and Bridget complimented each other so well, since both was broken. Val because of his past and Bridget because of how she was brought into the world. Duke of Sin will have you cheering by the end.

Under the Surface (Alpha Ops #4)

Eve Webber, the gorgeous and savvy owner of Eye Candy, knows better than anyone that growing up on the wrong side of the tracks comes with certain complications. Determined to run a clean business and fix up the East Side, Eve’s plans get temporarily stalled when a potential new hire walks into her bar. The sexual chemistry crackling between them is a potent distraction…even if she refuses to mix business with the promise of pleasure.

Detective Matt Dorchester lives by strict rules that have kept him alive in impossible situations. When his latest undercover assignment has him playing a bartender, his desire for the passionate owner has him breaking every single one. Eve is in danger and her life depends on his secrecy. But once their attraction reaches a climactic conclusion, Matt must make a desperate choice: Tell her the truth about who he really is—or risk a once-in-a-lifetime love to save her life?

My Review:  If you like you men hot and wild, if you like your romance story steamy and hot. Under The Surface book 4 in Anne Calhoun Alpha Ops series, would be the book you wish to pick up a copy of. I never read any books in this series. So, this series could be read in any order. But after reading this Eve Webber was trying to run a legitimate business but its difficult when outside forces is hindering your efforts. Eve wasn’t looking for help, but she shore wasn’t going to turn away the sexy Chad the new bartender.

Under The Surface was a good romantic suspense, with the main focus on the interaction between Chad/Matt and Eve. Very nice character development which the chemistry between the two main characters wasn’t forced.

I am definitely going back and start at the beginning of this series.
