Brett Dalton, Alpha of Hudson River, isolated himself from his pack mates after one betrayed him. The once, easygoing Alpha has become taciturn, remote and unforgiving. His pack worries for him, but they too have suffered a devastating blow. When several members leave to join Three Rivers, the pack faces the threat of dissolution until Brett’s best friend and Lone Wolf, Luc
Danes returns to Hudson River accompanied by a beautiful young human–or is she? Something about the woman consumes Brett. Has Luc come home to help or to take the pack from Brett?
Colby Jensen wrapped up thousands of hours of community service working at the hospital in Maine when an injured Luc Danes rolled through the door. The impossible patient drove the nurses crazy, but when Danes offered her money no strings attached to drive him to New York, she agreed. The last thing she expected was to arrive in the small Westchester County town and to meet the craziest collection of residents–especially the devastatingly sexy Brett Dalton. Part of her wants to hit the road, the rest wants to make him smile and he keeps making excuses for her to stay.
My Take: Have you ever decided to read a series because of the description of the book or mainly because of the cover. Well I decided to read River Wolf because of both. Brett Dalton is one hot Alpha and the life of protecting his pack wasn’t easy. If you are like me just starting this series this book was a stand-alone. But after reading this book I will be reading the rest in the series to catch up with the other character that makes an appearance that I assume had their own story. What I enjoyed about River Wolf…..either than it had a bunch of shifters was that the lead character Brett who took over Alpha and was betrayed by one of his own and some of his pack members have decided to go join another pack. It would be hard for some to get over that. However, Brett had the mentality that I rarely see in an Alpha, believe me I read a lot of shifter to say that Brett was laid back “If you wanted to go…leave” He didn’t force anyone to stay. But that all changed when Colby Jensen arrived on his doorstep. If he wanted anyone to stay it was Colby.
River Wolf stands toe to toe with other books in this genre. It was a plus that an Alpha found a mate that could stand up to any man or beast. So, if you are looking to add another shifter romance to your bookshelf make sure you check out River Wolf (Wolves of Willow Bend Book 7) you won’t be sorry that you did.
