After a tragic accident scarred her body and destroyed her dreams, Leila never imagined that the worst was still to come: terrifying powers that let her channel electricity and learn a person’s darkest secrets through a single touch. Leila is doomed to a life of solitude…until creatures of the night kidnap her, forcing her to reach out with a telepathic distress call to the world’s most infamous vampire…

Vlad Tepesh inspired the greatest vampire legend of all–but whatever you do, don’t call him Dracula. Vlad’s ability to control fire makes him one of the most feared vampires in existence, but his enemies have found a new weapon against him – a beautiful mortal with powers to match his own. When Vlad and Leila meet, however, passion ignites between them, threatening to consume them both. It will take everything that they are to stop an enemy intent on bringing them down in flames.

Meet Vlad Tepesh the one and only Count Dracul?……Don’t make the mistake of adding that “A” on the end of Dracul.

In Once Burned the beginning of the Night Prince Series by Jeaninene Frost, who weaved a romantic tale about the Vlad the impaler. Vlad was a man of many secrets, and few will try to go toe to toe with him. But one person will try and tame him. Let me introduce you to Leila.

Just one tragic accident that taken her mother’s life, left her dreams in ruins, and left her scarred. Leila never thought that after losing so much, her life couldn’t get in worse. It has to her chagrined …when it got out that just by a single touch, she could see a person’s darkest secrets it brought out beings that we though were imaginary.

Kidnapped by creatures of the night, forced to use her gift to find and spy on the world’s most infamous vampire. Who knew that the powers she gained that tragic day would change Leila life for the worst or maybe for the better.

Once Burned was a fast pace paranormal romance with well developed characters, and a wonderful plot that sets up this series beautifully. Though this series is written in the first person narrative, the story itself will captivate you and will leave you gasping.
