All wrapped up . . .
One more game. That’s all that stands between NHL star Asher Westmore and a major career milestone. But then his brother bashes him against the hockey boards, sidelining him for months. Over Christmas holidays, no less. If staying off the ice doesn’t drive him crazy, staying with his family will. The only bright spot amidst the mistletoe and twinkle lights: His best friend, Emma, is a physical therapist. And working out with her improves his body and his spirit.
One last time. Emma Callaway was in trouble the minute she and Asher added benefits to their friendship. How is she supposed to resist a funny, caring guy who makes her toes curl? Her heart was safe while he lived in a different state. Now that he’s back home recuperating, though, it’s only a matter of time before she blurts out her feelings. Emma’s only hope is that with a little holiday magic, she’ll get the best Christmas gift of all.
With a great combination of romance and sports, Maybe This Christmas is a must read. And being a big fan of hockey, even bigger since my team the Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup. I really enjoyed the story about Asher and Emma.
Who remembers the TV series The Brady Bunch? You know how Jan was always in competition with Marcia. Well, Asher and his brother reminded me of Jan and Marcia. You see when you read the book what I am talking about. The competitiveness between these brothers, albeit a little one-sided, was very interesting read.
You see; NHL star Asher Westmore is going for his thousands game a major milestone in any NHL players life. And nothing was going to get in his way. Nothing except a bad knee injury. But even that wouldn’t keep Asher of the ice. Until in game 999, his brother bashes him against the hockey boards. Asher could see his career going up in flames. But with his long-time friend Emma Callaway in his corner, working out with her can improve his body and his spirits.
Even though Asher and Emma were together already; it wasn’t the relationship that Emma wanted. She wanted more than an every now again hookup. But Asher being Asher had his eyes on the price so to speak and could see that Emma wants more.
What I come to enjoy about Maybe This Christmas was I could relate to Asher more than I could to Emma. Being not the oldest or the youngest I too went through the phase of trying to outdo my older siblings. Just to come to realize that no matter what! win or lose your siblings are the ones that would always have your back.
