#1 USA Today and New York Times bestselling author Maya Banks continues her suspenseful and sizzling Slow Burn series with the fifth book featuring the men and women of Devereaux Security Services.
Abducted as a young girl and raised in a strict religious cult, Jenna has no connection to the outside world beyond vague flashes of memory that seem to be from another life. Memories she clings to when the cult leaders discover her extraordinary ability to heal—and punish her. Years held captive and forced to do the cult’s bidding have turned Jenna into a meek, timid woman…or so they think. In truth, she is merely biding her time, waiting for the perfect moment to escape.
When a terrified young woman stumbles across Isaac’s path, Devereaux Security’s toughest recruit is intrigued by the beautiful, sheltered stranger. Jenna seems to know nothing of the world around her and refuses to tell him what danger haunts her, but Isaac will do whatever it takes to gain her trust. When it becomes clear that very powerful, dangerous people are after her, he vows to protect her at all costs… because with just one touch Issac knows he wants Jenna to be his—forever.
If you love to read supernatural, paranormal romance then you’re in luck. Maya Banks has a book just up your alley. It’s titled Just One Touch it’s the fifth book in her Slow Burn series. I read two others in this series, besides this one. So, picking this series back up I didn’t feel I was missing anything. Therefore, stand-alone this could be considered. But…you know there is always a but! But, I will still advise if you can, to read this story in order of publication. So, of course, I am going to take my own advice and purchase the others in this series.
Just One Touch is due for publication on May 23, 2017. This book is about 256 pages long. And if you read the previous titles, you will glad to know that those characters too, find themselves making an appearance.
Just One Touch was a quick read from beginning to end. With well-developed plot and strong characters that complement each other.
I found that I did enjoy this book significantly. There is a huge difference between the way she writes her action adventure and her paranormal/Supernatural titles. The big difference is there is more interaction between the characters in her paranormal titles than in her action adventure type titles.
Just One Touch I would recommend to paranormal/Supernatural readers. Or even to the readers that just is looking for something different.
