Deep Under: A Walker Security Novel

Kyle, one of the alpha men of Walker Security, is hot, bothered, and intense, and when Myla lands in his line of fire, she’ll soon learn her secrets, and her passion, belong to him, from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones.

Myla is beautiful, a dove with clipped wings, captive by the wolf, a vicious drug lord. One look into her eyes and Kyle could see the pain, the fear…the desperation. Or so it seems. He’s been fooled before by a woman and it cost him everything and everyone he loved. He won’t be fooled again.

My Review: Have you ever picked up book, at the store and as soon as you past the first paragraph you felt that you have read the story before?  Well, I had that felling while reading Deep Under by Lisa Renee Jones.

Deep Under is a first person narrative. This is a standalone book, as with the other books in the Tall, Dark and Deadly series you do not have to read the previous books to enjoy this one.

Myla was like any other person, just working to pay the bills. Until one night at work she caught the attention of a drug lord. Kidnapped and presumed dead by everyone.

The Walker Security has been on the hunt for Michael Alvarez. Also presumed dead when his plane exploded carrying him and Myla. But the word on the streets are that Alvarez was very much alive, and if that is so, then Myla too must be.

Kyle is one of Walker Security leading man when it comes to locating and destroy. On this assignment everything he knows is put to the test. Going deep undercover to protect a mystery person, Kyle was deeply shocked by whom he was protecting. And to keep Myla safe he must keep his distance even though everything in him says to pull her close and never let her go.

Deep Under was an action packed, suspense romance with a lot of twist and turns. What I really enjoyed about this book was that Myla wasn’t a weak lead character that was waiting for the big strong male to come to save the day. If anything it was surprising on how strong a character that Myla was.

Broad and all-powerful, a man who knows how to thrive in the wild–and bring to the edge of ecstasy the woman he claims as his own . . .

Determined to defend her late father’s work, Amber Green heads into the heat of the Nevada canyons to prove the existence of the Yaguara, a shape-shifting race of jaguars. There she meets the one man more hell-bent on protecting the jaguars than she is: Jareth, a force of raw male nature to be reckoned with–an animal worth pursuing . . .

My Review: Amber Fire by Lisa Renee Jones was short but sweet. But if you love paranormal romance this would be a must read.

Amber Green takes up the research of her late father. Research to prove that shape-shifters does exist. Unbeknownst to Amber while she conducts her research, the  jaguars  shifters are also keeping their eyes on her, mainly Jareth a raw alpha male who wants her gone or does he.

Even though the story ended abruptly that still didn’t take away from how great Amber Fire was. The chemistry between Jareth and Amber was great and the story line was very interesting.

A man of darkness, a man of passion, trapped by temptation and desire. It’s an inviting, achingly pleasurable alchemy no woman can refuse . . .

In the battle between good and evil, Kayla Ward knows vampires are strictly off limits. As a Watcher she is sworn to protect humankind from the nightwalkers. But a series of murders–the victims all women–leaves Kayla with only one choice: to join forces with the dark side. It isn’t her fault that Ethan’s seductive allure triggers every zone of pleasure in her body . . .

My Review:  When I got the honor of reading this book.  Not knowing anything about this author. I had so many question being even before I turned the page. How did she write? Would the story hold my interesting long enough? These are just some of the questions. I had more…but this review isn’t about my issues.  This review is about two characters that were total opposites that will found love in world gone mad.

Kayla Ward was a watcher sworn to protect mankind from the nightwalkers.  But a stream of murders, has her teaming up with her enemy, but, not just any nightwalker….no, she teamed up with the one nightwalker that had other supernatural beings scattering for their lives.  All except one, who has a hidden agenda, Kayla and Ethan must find what the agenda is before more murders occur.

I have to say even though the story was short; I think about 96 pages long. Night Sins was an okay read. It left off with sort of a cliffhanger with Kayla and Ethan, so I am hoping that this story is just the beginning.
