Hunger: The Energy Vampires Book Two by [Frank, Jacquelyn]Hunger

Author: Jacquelyn Frank

Series: The Energy Vampires

Print Length: 356 Pages

Publication Date: August 8, 2017

Two strangers—one warm and human, the other deadly and craving—become pawns in an all-out vampire war as this series from the New York Times bestselling author of the Nightwalkers saga heats up.

As an energy vampire, Halo enjoys the chase for human blood—if it’s pure and consensual. But Halo goes from hunter to hunted when he is knocked unconscious and taken hostage by vicious sycophants. As he comes to, he realizes that he’s naked, starving, and trapped in a sealed room. With him is a deliciously human female, tempting him to feed—except her blood is heady with the scent of poisonous drugs. Never has nourishment been so near, yet so far . . . and it’s all part of the sycophants’ sick game.

The last thing Felice Mendoza remembers is everything going black. She awakens stripped, drugged, exposed, and alone—with a vampire. Halo is at once savage and tender, terrifying and alluring. Felice senses that her only chance to escape depends upon his survival. Given the choice between Halo and his enemies, Felice surrenders to his ravenous hunger. It’s a calculated risk—and a delirious pleasure. As Felice is ushered into a world as dangerous as it is desirable, their fight for deliverance is only the beginning.

After reading the first book in Jacquelyn Frank new series The Energy Vampires, I jumped at the chance to read the second. The only thing I must say is Nooooooo!!! What happened? This book totally lost me. The writing was lopsided.
Hunger takes place in one room, and that is where the two main characters stayed until the last few chapters to try to tie the book out. Nothing really happened. Halo was nabbed along with a human Felice who was to become Halo ultimate downfall. To circumvent Roth’s plan to change Halo into a sycophant Halo and Felice must work together.
I found myself falling asleep numerous times while reading this book. This would be the first book that I’ve read and didn’t like that Jacquelyn Frank has written. The plot behind this series is still interesting, but Halo and Felice story was very disappointing.

Jacquelyn Frank

Hi there. It’s me! Again. Time to update some more. Trying to keep up with this and realizing I haven’t updated this since 2015. (It’s 2016 right now) I’ve expanded my online presence to include Facebook and Twitter, a website a blog and every other bleeping thing there is out there in the cyber world. Was finding it hard to manage all that exposure and get work done at the same time. I am writing under two names (JAX is for my steamier stuff…and yes, it does get steamier!) And I am in over half a dozen languages now! INCUDING a full line of NIGHTWALKERS audio books with the glorious narration of the superb Xe Sands. I’m thrilled with the job she did!

A hidden society of vampires—and the humans they love—are at the heart of this opening novel in a biting, all-original series from the New York Times bestselling author of the Nightwalkers saga.
Rafe DaSilva is an energy vampire, soaking up nourishment from the sun—and, only when necessary, drawing sweet sustenance from humans who are pure in body and spirit. As the right-hand man to his queen, Rafe is a key player at a historic peace summit in New York City, which will unite the vampire nations against a common threat: the sycophants, who feed on humanity and kill indiscriminately. But Rafe’s fascination with a beautiful blond police detective may put everything at risk.

Detective Renee Holden has never worked a homicide quite like this. The victim has twin puncture wounds on his neck, and the only eyewitness swears she saw a vampire. Now’s …not the time to get distracted by a seductive stranger. But the suave, darkly austere, exotically handsome Rafe DaSilva is a hard man to deny, and as Renee falls under his spell, she also falls prey to his enemies. Desperate to protect her, Rafe lifts the veil on a shadow realm she can only visit—a world of intoxicating power, terrifying dangers, and forbidden pleasures.

Jacquelyn Frank begins 2017 on a high note. With book #1 in her new Paranormal romance…we’re introduced to a whole new breed of vampire. Rafe DaSilva is an energy vampire sworn to protect his queen. Rogue vampires are out to destroy others like Rafe and to do this they are planning to sabotage the summit meeting that is being held in New York. On top of that, there is a vampire going around killing humans threatening the secret of their existence. It’s now up to Rafe to hunt them down before an Ace Homicide Detective discover the true nature of the serial killer.

Thirst will provide hours of entertainment as you dive into the world of a hidden society. Thirst was a well-developed, fast pace novel. A very strong start to this series. A must read, this reviewer can’t wait to see what happens further along in this series.

Bound in Darkness (The Immortal Brothers)

We have been on some outstanding adventures. And met same extraordinary men and the women they love. However, as we all know good things must come to an end.

Bound in Darkness the conclusion to Jacquelyn Frank The Immortal Brothers saga we must also say farewell.

After drinking from the fountain of immortality along with his brothers, Maxum was condemned by the gods to be entombed in the earth. Even after suffering his torchers he come to the conclusion that there is only one way to be set free and that is to finally kill the God who cursed him. However, before he could go on the suicide mission he must gather power and strength to beat a God.

My Take: Jacquelyn Frank took me back to my younger years with this book; tell this day I still recall Dungeon and Dragons. This generation has The Game of Thrown. If you love romantic fantasy with the elements like D&D and TGOT you will totally get into this book. We have a Cleric, Mage, Archer and an Orc to make up the band of merry men that follows Maxum on his quest to finding talismans to equip himself for the big battle against Sabo the good who cursed him. Along the way he meets and falls in love with Airianne “Airi” for short. What was very ironic about all the men that Maxum had traveling with him; I was thinking to myself there wasn’t an Elf in the story. Of course, how could I even doubt Jacquelyn after all the years I have read one of her books that she would ever let me down…The banter between Maxum and Airi was so amusing that it had me smiling like a hyena.

If you like D&D or TGOT you will really appreciate the captivating conclusion to Jacquelyn Frank saga featuring four immortal warriors who fight as well as the love. If you wish to start off your holiday season right, treat yourself, come November 24, 2015 Bound in Darkness goes on sale.

NightWalker Book Review

“Save the best for last.” That is a true statement for anything that you hold dare. I think that Jacquelyn Frank took these words to heart. In my opinion NightWalker the final chapter in the NightWalker saga was the best. All the NightWalker are back with their spouses to do one last battle to the death to defeat a cold blooded “God” named Apep. Whose decided that only Beings that stand in his way of taking over the world is the NightWalker and the other NightWalker nations.

What I really enjoyed about this book is the subtext throughout the story. About forgive one self and others. Throughout this story that is all Kamen was looking for even, though he thought he didn’t deserve anyone forgiveness. I am going to let you the readers find out what he needed forgiveness for.

Immortal Brothers: Cursed by Ice Book Review

I had the chance to read Cursed by Ice by Jacquely Frank the second installment in The Immortal Brothers this book like Cursed by Fire didn’t disappoint. Garreth was considered the level headed one. The one that tried to halt his other brothers from finding the fountain of life, on their misguided journey they were all cursed. Whereas, Dethan who was cursed by Fire. Garreth is cursed by Ice. He like his brother before him was offered a reprieve from his torment in exchange for his allegiance in the celestial civil war of the gods. Along this journey he meets Sarielle while trying to conquer her homeland. Sarielle like Garreth has her own problems. She’s being used by the current lord due to the fact she has the ability to control a mystical beast name Koro a weyvern. Sarielle too has the responsibility of caring for her two younger siblings being held as leverage against her in order to use her abilities. I think the reason I fell in love with Garreth and Sarielle story is because they were both slaves. Garreth salved by the gods to do their bidding or else to suffer the fate of being frozen to death for all eternity and Sarielle a true slave by the people she is force to protect and by her ability.

Immortal Brothers: Cursed by Fire Book Review

I have read so many books by Jacquelyn Frank, each and every one of them she brings to life the hero and heroine in great proportions. Dethan story is the first book in Jacquelyn Frank’s new series Immortal Brothers. It begins when Dethan along with his brothers condemned by the gods for snatching the power of immortality. Every day for centuries his body stricken by flames only to regenerate and be consumed all over again, he was reduced to learn that immortality wasn’t everything that it was cracked up to be. Until one day the Goddess of Conflict appears, she would save him on one condition. He’ll have to use his power and gift as a warrior, to raise an army and defeat a fierce enemy faction of gods.
Dethan on this journey he meets up with Selinda, a heires to the throne of Hexis. If you thought Dethan had troubles it wasn’t anything compared to Selinda’s, being an heiress as Selinda learned was a two handed sword. When she was young she was in an accident that left a mark and to some that mark destroyed her beauty, until she met Dethan who saw beyond the mark to what was.

Dethan and Selinda’s story is an epic tell of destiny and betrayals, and what one shall overcome if one tries hard enough. Cursed by Fire is an excellent story and started the series of The Immortal Brothers perfectly. I can’t wait to read the next installment of the series which should be about his younger brother.
