A man on a mission
A brutal crime is haunting detective Dale Morgan. A young woman has been murdered on the city’s outskirts, and her blood drained. Dale suspects the leader of a depraved cult may be to blame. Yet with barely a shred of evidence at the crime scene, Dale will have to turn to the one person despises almost as much as the killers he puts behind bars.

A woman with secrets
To humans, Saba Venn is a psychic, but she’s Albah, a race long-forgotten by humans but who live amongst them, her powers fueled by blood and silver. She agrees to help Detective Morgan, if it means stopping the vampire cult she believes is behind the killing. But the attraction she feels with Dale is immediate, and as their relationship intensifies she begins to doubt she can keep her secret from him.

If you like to read about mythical beings or just wanting for the next shifter book. Thank Lady of Silver, can be that book. Saba Venin when you looked at her you though she was an average dwarf. However, Saba was an Albah a race thought extinct. But as Dale Morgan found out that was not so. While hunting down a serial killer Dale decided to go to the one person he thought he would visit…a psychic.

But, Dale soon came to realize that not everything is black or white. And soon, Dale and Saba lives or on the line from the serial killer.

Me, I thought Lady of Silver was an okay read. Again, one of those I would pick up if I didn’t have anything else better to read. The plotline was decent the characters were likable, but I didn’t really feel the chemistry between Dale and Saba.

Former SEAL Jaxson River would give his life for his brothers and his pack, but if he doesn’t claim a mate soon, he’ll be forced to step down as their alpha. There’s only one problem: Jaxson’s dark secret would kill any mate he claimed. With someone kidnapping shifters off the street—and only Jaxson and his brothers, Jace and Jared, to stop them—now is not the time for his secret to come out.

Curvy Olivia Lilyfield is a half-witch orphan with a dark secret of her own. She wants to atone for it by doing good in the world, so when she finds a wolf being tortured in an alley, she doesn’t hesitate to help… even though wolves and witches mix like matches and TNT.

Olivia’s dangerous magic means she can’t let anyone get too close—but Jaxson can’t keep his hands off her, and his kisses are more than she can resist. As they race to save the disappearing shifters of Seattle, the true danger lies in loving each other. They’re playing with magical fire… and their secrets could end up destroying them both.

You wouldn’t believe what you could find to read when you’re bored. I came across Jaxson the 1st book in Alisa Woods River Pack Wolves series. I have to say this was pretty good. Jaxson River is a former SEAL also Alpha of the River pack or for now anyway. Due to a curse, he wouldn’t be able to fulfill the number one requirement of being an Alpha, finding a mate.

Even though he found the one women he wants to be with, he still can’t claim her. Jaxson was a great book from beginning to end. With a well-developed set of characters and scorching shifter romance that burns the pages. This book was worth reading.

Luke Reynolds was the baby, in his wolf pack and the only unmated male. Deciding to take a job somewhere that he’s not an outsider, he took a job as a head horse trainer in Sedona, Arizona; Not expecting the one thing he would value most his one true mate.

Raven was human at one time. Wolf Moon is book #7 in Lisa Kessler Moon Series and it held its own with the other. With high action and sexy romance. Wolf Moon was a treat for any reader who likes alpha type men who know how to take care of himself and the women who fall for them.

He’s noble. notorious. And takes no prisoners…

Strong as a Viking. Handsome as Adonis. Rich as Midas. Collin “Cole” Talmage, Duke of Trewyth, is the stuff that legends are made of. He’s the English Empire’s golden son–until fate has its way with him. Cole’s family is killed and his closest comrade betrays him on the battlefield, leaving him gravely injured. But Cole is not one to dwell on misfortune. He is a man of duty, honor–and desire. And now he’s ready for the fight of his lifetime…
Imogen Pritchard is a beautiful lass who works in a hospital by day and as a serving maid at night. Years ago, when she was young and penniless, she ended up spending a scandalous night with Cole, whose tormented soul was matched only by his earth-shattering passion. Imogen entered a marriage of convenience—one that left her a wealthy widow—but she never forgot Cole. Now that her long-lost lover has turned up in her hospital, injured and with no memory of her, Imogen is torn: Is it a blessing or a curse that their past remains a secret to Cole, even as his new passion for her leaves him wanting to protect and possess her…at all costs, in The Duke, the next Victorian Rebels novel by Kerrigan Byrne.

I don’t know it was just something about this book that I couldn’t really get into the characters. It was interesting at the beginning but somewhere in the second chapter, it went downhill, and never really recover until I turned the last page. That was back in December. I decided to give the book another go, and maybe just maybe something would change. I found that it was the two main characters.

Colin is blaming the world because of his missing body part and Imogen always the victim. I thought that sooner or later the characters would come to know that you and only you can change your destiny or life as it may. But with the lack of character development comes the lack of knowledge on the characters.

Even though this was part of a series book #4 of Victorian Rebels. The Duke can be read as a stand-alone. I never read any of Kerrigan Byrne other books. I might just have to give this book a third read after reading the other books in this series.

A shadow has fallen over the medieval Holy Land, and four courageous Crusaders have banded together to root out the enemy. The Brotherhood of Fallen Angels have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of justice. But is there room in their hearts for love?

Evil is everywhere, and General Constantine Gerard has witnessed more than his share. Yet he never dreamed the ugliness that darkened the castle at Chastellet would cost him his wife and child.  Now he has nothing left to lose—and nothing to live for, save the vengeance he vows to unleash on Glayer Felsteppe, the man who destroyed his family.

Theodora Rosemont, too, has suffered at Glayer’s hands. When Constantine finds her, she is barely alive, and desperate to find her baby, who was snatched away by Glayer’s men mere moments after his birth. Bonded by their common enemy, Constantine and Dori embark on a treacherous journey, determined to rescue the child and vanquish the father. But as emotions run high and secrets are revealed, passion could compromise their quest, leaving more than just their hearts in peril . .

When it came to historical events Heather Grothaus went all out to make sure that the events were accurate. However, when it came to the romance that was another thing altogether lacking. Constantine was a hero of men, a loving husband, and father. But, when an enemy took all that away from him. Constantine became a man of vengeance.

Constantine is the 4th book in The Brotherhood of Fallen Angels. This story was very intriguing with a lot of twist and turns. With some reveals being a big shocker. Where Constantine lacked romance, it made up for it by having a well-developed plotline.

My recommendation would be to start this series from the beginning to get the full backstory of the Brotherhood of Fallen Angels and what made these men tick.

Jonah Ranger was restoring an antique 1955 Chevy when he heard a woman’s voice on the car radio pleading for help. She said her name was Alice Davenport, and a man was holding her captive, forcing her into a grueling workout routine so she’d be a proper challenge when he hunted her like a big game on his private estate.

Rebecca York has done it again. In book #15 in her Decorah Security series, Preying Game with the title telling the whole story. Alice Davenport was kidnapped and made to endure a grueling workout before she was to be hunted like prey. Taking a chance, she telepathically called out for help. Not expecting to really receive help. Until Jonah answered her call.

If I go any further in my review I will be taken the pleasure out of the book. I must say, though. Preying Game was an enjoyable if not interesting book to be sure. The characters were likable and like the other books in this series, you won’t want to miss. But if I had to choose I would say that Preying Game is the best out of the series by far…IMOP

Print Length: 198 pages

Characters: Cole, Allie

Is ever lasting love a blessing—or a curse?

Thanks to their adoptive parents, Allie and Cole have shared an unwavering connection since childhood. Now, teenagers, they’ve been told their bond goes deeper than friendship. Allie and Cole are soul mates, destined to fall in love with one another again and again across the ages. For Cole, who remembers the past, the news is welcome. But Allie resists what she sees as a threat to her freedom, a ghost story, perhaps even a fantastical plan designed to control her . . .

In rebellion, Allie pushes Cole away—leaving him to battle the memories that haunt him and the pain of losing her once and for all. But his absence may prove too much for Allie’s heart to bear. Will she keep fighting the mysterious ties that bind them? Or will she find herself desperately pursuing the very fate she rejected—and encountering obstacles she didn’t expect?

Ever Lasting is told in the first-person narrative, where the two souls of Allie and Cole would also reincarnate and destined to fall in love with each other. Until this reincarnation, Allie didn’t feel what Cole felt. Refusing to force false feelings from Allie, Cole decided to distance himself from the one person that he swore to love.

Even though Ever Lasting is the third title in the Cursed series penned by author Odessa Gillespie Black, I felt I got the concept without reading the prior books in the series. Reading other books with the same plotline I thought that Odessa Gillespie Black does a wonderful job of developing the plotline and characters.
