Book Tour: The City: The Jane Harvest

The Jane Harvest
The City Book 1
by A Nicky Hjort
Genre: SciFi Fantasy
Winning battles means Ink honors, prestige, and life itself. …Yet nobody
understands what losing truly means.

On another planet two hundred years in the future, twenty-one-year-old
Isla Jane struggles helplessly to figure out who she is and what her
world really means. Marked with a forbidden tattoo of the rising sun,
she is a natural champion of humanity and a gifted warrior in Heats–
lavish battles fought in the conjoined minds of the participants for
the morbid amusement of the masses.
Despite Isla’s desire to fade into the background, she emerges as an
obvious leader of her people when the senseless assassination of a
youth forces her to face the truth. Her volatile world, disguised by
its elaborate battles and constant mayhem, is a prison without bars
and a coffin, the lid already half-closed, that they must escape.
But when she vows to find a way to bring her people back home, Isla will
have to deconstruct consciousness and the very nature of the space
time continuum to unravel good from evil, truth from lies, and
survival from true love.
Welcome to the City–where it takes lives to save lives…
A. Nicky Hjort is originally from Arlington, Texas- the second of five
siblings, all of whom have strong creative talents. She currently
lives in coastal central California where she practices medicine as
an Ob/GYN. In between being a lovingly devoted mother and delivering
babies, she writes stories that cross multiple genre lines- from Sci
Fi to high fantasy, but all of her stories have thriller and strong
romantic components. And for her clever reader, all of her
manuscripts are subtly connected to each other, with their purpose to
explore all facets of Love and Light. She likes to say that her
stories write themselves, and in the process, often write her, or at
least the next version of her hoping to emerge. A lover of all the
arts, A. Nicky Hjort hopes her stories might inspire you to find your
inner creative genius.
As for her heroes- they are as varied and eclectic as her choice of
narrative genres, but when pushed to list her favorite influences,
she would say James Patterson, Barbara Kingsolver, Patricia Cornwell,
Dean Koonntz, Gene Roddenberry, Shel Silverstein, Suzanne Collins,
and Walt Disney.
She thanks you for your attention to her work.

Storm Gathering (The Scorpius Syndrome Book 4)

Storm Gathering (The Scorpius Syndrome Book 4) by [Zanetti, Rebecca]Storm Gathering

Rating:

Author: Rebecca Zanetti

Series: Scorpius Syndrome

Print Length: 359 Pages

Publication Date: September 19, 2017

Even before surviving the Scorpius bacterium, Greyson Storm was a lone wolf navigating minefields. As a kid, he learned to take a hit and find safety. As an adult, he joined the military and quickly learned how to protect and defend. When the world ended, he created a mercenary camp with military precision, no entanglements, and a promise to avenge a fallen friend. As part of that vow, he kidnapped Maureen Shadow, but now that he has let her go, her blue eyes and intriguing mind keep haunting him…

As possibly the only Biotechnology Engineer still living, Maureen Shadow might be humanity’s one hope to survive the aftermath of Scorpius, making her frighteningly valuable to both allies and enemies. Even after sexual tension explodes between her and Greyson, she’s not sure which camp he belongs to—friend or foe? Worse yet, survival may mean thwarting his prime mission, putting her in even more peril. When danger and seduction collide, there is no safety in this new world.

If the Scorpius Syndrome should happen tomorrow, and you were one of the survivors which side would you be on? I want to believe that I would be on the side that would fight for a cure. Storm Gathering is a work of fiction. It is not too often that we come across fiction especially in a romance that the heavy topic of death and how one can change society if we all just work together.

Storm Gathering is book # 4 in Rebecca Zanetti’s thriller post-apocalyptic romance The Scorpius Syndrome. Maureen Shadow may be the only Biotechnology Engineer left living and the most valuable to both allies and enemies.

If you haven’t read book three, Maureen Shadow was kidnapped by Greyson Storm to keep a vow to a dead friend. But later he let her go. But by then the attraction for Maureen just grew to where he couldn’t stop thinking about her. And now that there is finally a chance for him to keep his promise, he must decide if a promise to a dead friend is worth risking what he hopes to gain with Maureen.

I am really enjoying this series, and without a doubt, Storm Gathering fits right in with the others in this series. What I love the most about this story is all the characters from the previous story made their appearance. Also, this series feels like one big movie just without the movie screen. Storm Gathering will have you thinking, cheering and crying until the very last page has been turned.

So, after you read Storm Gathering if Scorpius Syndrome should happen tomorrow what side would you take.

I would recommend Storm Gathering for any hard-core Science Fiction lover how also love a good romance.

A brutal attack on Emily Stanton’s family has left her for dead . . . until she is found in the woods by a handsome stranger with a thick brogue who vows to protect her. There’s only one problem: As a woman with a noble English background, she has no business keeping company with such a man.

For Scotsman Iain MacEnroy, Emily’s high-tone accent is a bitter reminder of the oppressive regime he left behind. The last thing he needs is to be burdened by the needs of a beautiful, blue-eyed Englishwoman. But taking care of elegant, educated Emily begins to transform Iain in ways he never imagined. Could it be that the deep divisions from the old world no longer apply in the new—and

In the early 80s, I watch a program “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” which was made in 1954. The movie was a musical but that was okay, for I loved that movie.
In 1850, backwoodsman Adam Pontipee comes into a town in the Oregon Territory to search for a bride. Met with ridicule by some locals, he comes upon the local tavern where he meets Milly. Convinced of her worth by the quality of her cooking and her insistence on finishing her chores before she would leave with him, he proposes and she accepts despite knowing each other for only a few hours.

Well, welcome to Hannah Howel take on the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. But in Emily Stanton’s story, her life was anything but cheerful and she certainly didn’t have anything to sing about. On the run with her orphan nephew when her older sister and husband was slaughtered. It was up to her to keep them alive. Until Ian MacEnroy along with his brother come along, to take them under their wings.

Iain MacEnroy has a long standing of protecting those who need it. When his family was run out of Scotland by an Englishwoman, and his mother and father died along the way. It was up to Iain to keep his younger brother safe.

The Scotsman who Saved Me was an excellent book. For a historical romance, you can’t get anything better than intrigue and mayhem. You will fall in love with all the brothers, and just like the movie, this one is classic.

Book Tour: The Halfling

by Melissa H. North
Genre: Fantasy
“There are three things I know are
certain in my life. Firstly, I am a cursed halfling—part faerie,
part human. Another thing I know is I hate faeries. They are
deceitful, evil, and conniving.
The third thing I know—and it is
a certainty—nothing is guaranteed in this life, including your
sanity, your family, and your world as you know it.” –
Eliana
Eliana finds herself propelled into a world she longs
to stay away from; a world where nothing is what it seems. In a race
against minds, she must master her magic and fight an unimaginable
darkness, stretching throughout the realm of Grandelione. The same
darkness that cursed her mother and, now, her half-brother is laying
dormant in her too.
It grows stronger with each passing day.
Left with two options, she must choose to fight and bring
peace back to Grandelione or plunge into a world of darkness and
murder.
Can she learn to harness her magic and bring
peace back to Grandelione and her family?
Or will the
darkness within consume her?
Pursued by her brothers from the Faerie
realm of Grandelione, Eliana Ariarose flees through the streets of
New York City.
Her brothers are sworn enemies, with
the youngest, Caelian, having battled to earn his title of Crown
Prince from Aemon – a royal who vows bloodshed in order to have his
claim to the throne restored.
As Eliana flees, she makes startling
discoveries about herself and her real identity, as well as the truth
about her upbringing.
Eliana meets many beings from the
Faerie world. Some would die to keep her safe, while others would
happily steal her immense and unusual powers, right before destroying
her heart and soul.
Writing has always
been a hobby and cathartic experience for me. Turning my passion into
a fulfilling career as an Author has been one of my greatest dreams.
I write because creating something that didn’t exist before is as
close to magic as I’ll ever get. All you need is imagination.
I’ve always been passionate about storytelling and impressed by the
influence it has on people and the decisions they make in life. I
love engaging with the projects I work on, diving headfirst into the
research, investigation, and production of stories I feel are worth
writing about. I am a curious and proactive Author, interested in
preserving the foundations set by classical literature by adapting
them to modern themes and trends.
