Publication Date: March 28, 2017

Characters: Sir Artan Murray, Cecily

Sir Artan Murray was right when he decided that the dying old man who bid him collect his niece, Cecily Donaldson, didn’t know her at all. The furious woman facing him is neither “sweet” nor “biddable.” Cecily demands the brawny Highlander return her to the wedding party from which he took her. But Artan has no intention of allowing so spirited and bewitching a creature to endure a loveless marriage to a ruthless lord for her clan’s sake. He aims to woo Cecily and show her that true love also yields unforgettable pleasure….

All through this book the characters of Artan Murray and Cecily reminded me of another book. “The Bride” written by Julie Garwood. I found that Highland Barbarian was rather good. But then again, Hannah Howell’s Murray Sagas is always entertaining. It had a strong character development and likable characters. What I liked mainly about this book, was that for once it was the woman, in this case, Cecily who had to come to the rescue of the strong and capable man.

Highland Barbarian had plenty of drama with the main characters always in peril. This book fits right in with the rest of the rest of the series.
But the greatest thing about this series, no matter how many times you read them, it never gets old…. That and all the stories could be read as a stand-alone.
