Lucas St. Clair’s prestigious family had a political future neatly planned out for him—one that didn’t include his high school sweetheart, Mia Ramon. Under their pressure, Lucas gave her up. But since surviving captivity, he’s a changed man—and a crucial member of ARES Security. When he discovers a dead man clutching a picture of Mia that bears a threatening message, his fiercest protective instincts kick in, and he knows he must go to her.
Mia has never forgiven Lucas for breaking her heart, and she’s convinced her feelings for him are in the past. But it’s soon clear that isn’t true for either of them. Now, determined to solve the crime and keep Mia safe, with his ARES buddies backing him up, Lucas will have to reconstruct the murder victim’s last days—and follow a lethal trail that leads right back to the fate of the woman he still loves…
Whereas Kill Without Mercy had me enthralled to see what happens next Kill Without Shame not so much. All through the book I felt that I read this book before. I knew who the culprit was before the person was introduced, and I knew why. The story flowed at a nice pace and the character like in the previous book was developed nicely too. But the mystery behind the attacks on Mia, wasn’t a big secret for me.
Kill Without Shame…if you haven’t read the first book Kill Without Mercy, it’s not a big deal…this title could be read as a standalone without a reading getting lost. But you might want to sooner or later to take advantage of the full entertainment value of the series.
Even though this book didn’t meet the high-quality standards of the first book. I am hoping to finish ARES Security series to see where Alexander Ivy is planning to go with it.
I also know there is one story I want to read about and that might just be the story that might make reading this series worth wild.
