With nothing but rumors to lead her, Lynne Harmony has trekked across a nightmare landscape to find one man—a mysterious, damaged legend who protects the weak and leads the strong. He’s more than muscle and firepower—and in post-plague L.A., he’s her only hope. As the one woman who could cure the disease, Lynne is the single most volatile—and vulnerable—creature in this new and ruthless world. But face to face with Jax Mercury…

My Review: I don’t know what to say. Mercury Striking was a read on speed. This was a thriller romance with an exclamation point on thriller. Mercury Striking is a story about a Scorpius bacterium that was released on the earth. Not by mad scientist but by innocent college students who one day came upon a meteorite which they preceded in cutting in half, thereby; releasing the harmful disease.

Mercury Striking is the first book in Rebecca Zanetti new thrilling post-apocalyptic romance which was introduced in the prequel Scorpius Rising. Lynne was a scientist on the CDC team that was injected directly with the Scorpius bacteria, in order to save her life, Nora Medina injected her with an untried serum which automatically turned her heart blue and the area around it.

After escaping a soon to be death sentence, Lynne trekked across a nightmarish landscape of death and madness looking for the one person who maybe the only salvation for mankind a damaged legend who protects the weak and leads the strong.

Jax Mercury would tell you he’s nobody’s hero. He’s just a man who’s trying to survive in a world that has gone completely mad, and if he helps save others in the process he will chalk that up to redeeming himself for the harm he committed in his younger years.

When he come across Lynne public enemy number one with a bullet if she was ever caught by other humans who blamed her and people like her for not stopping the bacteria from spreading, Both will soon realize that they have the same enemy “Time”. Will they have enough time to find the cure for the disease that has now claimed billions of lives or will time run out for them and the other survivors.

I could go on and on abut Mercury Striking but I am going to stop here and just say if you have the chance to purchase Mercury Striking do so you won’t regret the purchase. It’s a fantastic book that will pull you in for the hours it takes for you to complete the book and maybe longer than that since Mercury Striking is the first book and the next will be due out in September.
